Ok. I have an inkling that an intervention may be in my future. Feeding right into my ‘ridiculous number of online accounts’ addiction (see below), I signed up to Technorati today.
Techno-what? Yeah. I have no idea. But it has something to do with indexing every last blog ever written. Which supposedly, will help folks find the blogs they want. Considering there’s about 1.2 million posts appearing per day, having an easy way to find what you’re looking for sounds pretty darn good.
Plus, Nickerblog is doing it.
Here’s my Technorati Profile– posted here mainly because Technorati says I have to. Why I can’t put this somewhere inconspicuous, like my left navigation bar, I don’t know. But I will. Because Nickerblog did. So I’ll figure that out right after I get around to updating my new profile with useful and current information. Which might not be until sometime this Christmas.
More New Blog Developments I’m Considering (or, The Only Way You MIGHT Get Me to Think About Jumping Off a Bridge is if I Saw These Folks Go First):
- RSS Feeds – the RedHead Papers, WWdN, Scobleizer
NotifyList is neither intuitive nor robust. Readers don’t seem to like it. Plus, I have to learn and apply it for the site I run at work. So I might as well. - WordPress the RedHead Papers, Pound, Scobleizer
I am not a fan of being told what to do. Especially on creative, personal stuff like, MY SITE. See all that screwed-up looking codey gobbledeegook in browser title up there? Ever notice a post that displays a different font? That’s there because Typepad said, “You can’t customize your site unless you pay us more.” And I said “Watch me.” - CSS – oh heck, this is EVERYWHERE
I’m pretty sure I’d need to know this if I went to WordPress, but again, I’m already learning this because most everything I do at work – newsletters, Intranet, emails – is a pain in the ass without it. - Flickr – the RedHead Papers, WWdN, Pound
I really don’t like Flickr, but if I go to WordPress, I’ll lose my TypePad photo albums. And that is one thing that I liked most about TypePad. But WordPress sounds so cool…
More to come.
