2. Get a second job. Organizing events. For an entire city.
In the middle of our extended stay in slackerville, I managed to land a job. A kick-ass job. For this City Public Works Department. Offered in large part due to my future coworkers Googling me after the interview and finding this blog.
“So, hi! How’s Maui? We read your blog.”
“Um…what?”
What did I post? What did they read whatdidtheyreadwhatdidtheyreaaaaaad?! Was it safe? Did I curse?
Oh god. Please let it not be the the Snowman Story How many times did I swear in that? Didn’t I malign an imaginary city engineer? Jesus.
“We LOVED the Snowman story.”
“Meh?!”
“So, are you going to take the job?”
Apparently, I look a lot less uptight on my blog than I do in real life. And there are employers who like it.

Thanks, guys! I started March 1st and it has been NON STOP all the way. Right now I’m getting ready for the concert series to start on 6/27 and the city’s first 4th of July Fireworks Bonanza.
So Busy. Crazy Busy.
