Newcastle Media Blitz
For anyone in the Greater Seattle / Eastside area who hasn’t already picked up an issue of 425 Magazine, you might want to grab the Holiday Issue. Overlooking for a moment that the City of Newcastle is featured (and yours truly is quoted several times, eek!), it is a truly gorgeous publication with wonderful articles on everything from the architecure, fashion, decor, volunteerism, events and character unique to the eastside.Jules’ Fave Article Highlights:
* Throw a Holiday Cocktail Party, by my new event planning hero, Alexandra Hedin
* Eye on Style aka, the New York-to-Seattle Translation Guide for all things delectible
* Wine and Dine at Chateau Ste. Michelle, one of our favorite places on earth
* ‘Tis the season to look posh, for winter fashion at its best
For my out of state readers, I’m sad to say Newcastle’s article is not available online. But if you’d really like a copy, feel free to email me and I’d be happy to hunt one down for you. (Amazingly, the cover price is only $5. My much-thinner quarterly issues of Photoshop User cost $10, so I’m honestly SHOCKED.)
In other news, the City of Newcastle recently gained a new staff member – Doug Alder – as our first Communications Manager. In the month and a half he’s been with us, he’s established our city blog (Seattle’s the only other city that has one), released at least a half-dozen press releases, and gotten Newcastle on the local news at least four times.
Doug’s doing amazing things to get us noticed around the Puget Sound – something SUPREMELY important to our City identity and economy, seeing as we’re largely unknown. Things that will bring customers to our stores, buyers to our real estate, sponsors to our events, and much, much more.
